The Most Important Things
There are lots of things your website/blog will eventually need to expand. The absolutely most important things are a top level domain name, web hosting, SSL security and marketing.
In this tutorial/informational article I will be going over these things and how they affect your websites traffic, reliability and appearance to the public. These bold words stated above are the ones that I find to be the most important to take into consideration, although there are lots more of things that could largely benefit your website.
Anyone can put up a website, but only the one who knows how to manage it will be able to keep it
Get a top level domain name
Getting a full domain name will make your website address easier to remember and appear more professional.
A domain name is your website address. And getting a full domain is significantly better than a sub-domain. An example of a full domain would be www.yourwebsite.com. An example of a sub-domain would be www.yourwebsite.wordpress.com
It increases your visitors
Getting a domain name will make your website appear easier in search results on google and bing etc, because a domain name is SEO friendly. This will lead to you being easier found and more visitors appearing on your website. A huge feature for anyone who wants to establish their websites identity on the internet.
A domain name is easier to remember
A pretty obvious thing is that a shorter, more professional appearing web address will easier get stuck in a visitors head than a clumsy sub-domain name. This could make a larger amount of your visitors return to your website when they need to. This is a great way to establish loyalty and to create a bond with your visitors.
You will appear more professional
A full domain name will make your website appear more professional and easier establish trust between you and your visitors. To some visitors, someone who spent money into their website trying to improve the user experience means someone who is legit and therefore they might feel comfortable enough to leave their contact information to you or maybe even make a purchase if you own an online store.
Domain names are more important for some than others
We can already tell that getting a domain name is a huge benefit to the most websites, although some type of websites needs a domain significantly more than others. If you own an online business or eCommerce store, then a domain name is pretty much a must have. Otherwise the majority of people just wont make a purchase or feel comfortable enough to leave their contact information to you. On the other hand, if you own a blog, it's not quite as important to have a domain name since you are already blogging in your niche and can establish an internet identity for yourself without the need of a domain name. Also, the most blogs don't ask for peoples private information.
If you want to buy a domain name I recommend doing so on the by far most popular domain name service Godaddy
Get 24/7 web hosting
A key feature for your website or blog would be to get professional web hosting from a hosting company. Get web hosting on a company like Bluehost or Hostgator
Web hosting allows your website to always stay up 24 hours a day and allows you full access to all the records and backup files. If you are creating your website on a website builder platform like Weebly or Wix, then this hosting issue might apply slightly less to you. Although it could still be a step up to move to professional hosting instead of sticking with their hosting since you don't get access to everything on there.
You get more bandwidth
Many hosting services provide infinite bandwidth when purchasing any of their web hosting plans. Basically what this means is that you will be able to receive any amount of traffic to your website at one time without the site crashing. Many free website builder platforms don't offer unlimited bandwidth, like WIX for example. If you would like to get infinite bandwidth from them you have to upgrade your plan.
Everything you work on can be saved
With paid web-hosting you can constantly arrange backups to be created, effectively saving versions of your website in case things are not going the way they were planned or if you get hacked/ddosed. You can often get the backup files to get e-mailed and this always gives you a sense of security in case you would lose your precious work.
Honestly, hosting a website is about as costly as a cup of coffee each month. About $4 recurring monthly is something I think the most people can afford and it is without doubt worth it.
If you want to try out web hosting, I recommend Bluehost, one of the leading web hosting companies world wide.
Get an SSL Certificate
It stands for secure sockets layer, and encrypts all user submitted information and personal information when visiting a website that has an SSL certificate. This would be vital to have if you own a website that collects sensitive information like credit card numbers, telephone numbers or passwords. So websites like eCommerce stores and membership sites absolutely need a certificate.
Protects against hackers
A certificate will protect you against hackers trying to steal your users information on the site by using top of the line encryption to secure all sensitive information. With a certificate your website will just appear as a huge no-go for hackers and they would probably just move on to a site which has more loose security layers.
It builds trust with your users
More and more people gets aware of their security online and today not many of them would want to buy from a website that doesn't encrypt their information. You could lose potential customers and lots of them if you don't have an SSL certificate. This is why it's so essential that you have one if you are selling items online, digital or physical doesn't matter. With SSL, you will appear more trustworthy to your customer, strengthening your bond with one another.
It's SEO friendly
Search engines like google, bing etc will rank secure websites higher. They are more friendly to googles crawling bots and with an SSL certificate you will appear as much more secure. The encryption on your website will be appealing to search engines and this could yield a lot more visitors actually. You can expect to climb googles rankings long term and receive an increase in visitors which might mean more conversions.
You might have heard of DDOS before, or Distributed Denial Of Service attacks. These are attacks which hackers send to your website to crash it by flooding it with fake traffic. Every website has a limit of how many visitors that can visit it at one exact moment (even ''infinite'' bandwidth websites). If the traffic amount gets high enough, the DDOS attack could get big enough to take down a large website. This is a definite threat to any site who could be getting rivals.
Here are a couple of reasons why you absolutely should go for DDOS protection services
When using a form of DDOS protection you will survive attacks of various scales. For a website whose uptime is vital in order not to lose money DDOS protection is necessary. When receiving a DDOS attack all the pings will be taken care of. Cloudflare is a company which has claimed to be able to handle huge attacks of up to 400Gbps. If you do not have protection against these attacks, your website will go down and be rendered unusable for any visitor during the attack.
Makes you less attractive to hackers
Should the time come when you get attacked you will be protected, although it may not even come at all. A website who has DDOS protection will be super unattractive to any hacker looking to cause chaos. That combined with an SSL certificate you are pretty much good to go. Very few hackers have the will, knowledge or time to hack or DDOS a website with these security precautions taken into mind.
If you feel like your website might need DDOS protection, or if you just would like to try it out, I recommend Cloudflare.
Advertise your website
A lot of great, unique websites just don't get noticed or seen online today. The internet world is literally massive and your website is just one in hundreds of millions. This causes many websites to shut their doors. This is why it is important to know how to market your website and invest in reaching the right visitors.
But isn't advertising expensive?
No, it does not have to be. Marketing your website using the right tools and knowing how to target your audience could make you reach out to visitors/customers with still keeping a low budget for anyone who doesn't have thousands of dollars to spend.
Use Facebook Ads
I've told you this in my previous article about how to get more traffic to your website, but I really cannot stress enough how good this method actually is. It's cheap, allows advanced targeting options and provides results!
You create your own ad with your own text and images on Facebook, then promote it to users who will see your ad and click if interested. The pay per view is very low and hundreds of people could see your ad for only a couple of bucks. You could get a lot of clicks out of this depending on what you are promoting.
Say you were promoting an affiliate link, and you know the website you're affiliated with has a sale going on, you could promote that sale and make users click on your ad to be directed to your affiliate partner. This way you can get conversions and advertising could actually be beneficial.
You will be recognized and get a name for yourself
Once people have actually seen a commercial from you, there is a chance that your name or ad will be remembered. This means that the next time a person who has already seen an ad from you before sees another one, they might click out of curiosity. If they find the content interesting, you might have just gained your self a loyal and returning visitor.
Advertising has been proven to be beneficial if it's done right and can earn you lots of money. If you wanna know how to maximize the efficiency of your ads, I recommend Facebook official Ads Guide, It's good to read before advertising: https://www.facebook.com/business/ads-guide

Getting More Traffic
Author: Nick Bergman
Good ways to increase your web traffic would be to share your website/blog, on social media, market it with Google Adwords or Facebook.
You can also manage your SEO.
These are just a few solutions that I will be going over in this tutorial. Mind that there are lots of methods, literally thousands of them to increase web traffic, but I will personally go over the ones that have had the best result for me.
Failure strikes at the worst possible times, but can yield in the most positive outcomes
Share Your Website on Social Media
Traffic from different social media sources is today one of the biggest referrers of traffic no matter what kind of website/blog you own. Create a Facebook page,Twitter account, and share your posts on there.
Sharing your content might not seem like it would get you any visitors if you're just starting out on a twitter account with 0 followers or a Facebook page with 0 likes, although there are a number of reasons why you indeed do get traffic:
You will have more visibility across the internet
People might accidentally stumble upon you in the search results. If you register for an account on a popular social media site, you will get an identity and integrity for your website/blog. These two things are vital for a healthy flowing traffic source.
You will appear more frequently in search engines
Search engines like Google or Bing can often have trouble indexing your website if competition is high. But top of the line social media giants like Facebook and Twitter rank really high on search engines, and with all the SEO optimization already done for you, chances you will be found are significantly higher.
People won't forget you
When people have started to interact with your social media pages, you won't be forgotten. Once they have started following you or liked your page they will receive notifications whenever you share content. This makes your visitors come back and stay loyal to you. Especially important if you have a blog or a site that you would like returning customers to, but of course this is great for any type of website.
SEO - Search Engine Optimization
Many people who don't know about SEO don't get enough traffic to sustain their websites. Basically Seach Engine Optimization is a way to increase your rankings on search engine results.
When people search for you or things related to what your website is about, you want to show up in the results. And search engine optimization is the way to do that.
Create a google webmaster tools account
First off, if you want to appear in google's search results what so ever, you need a google webmaster tools account. You register and submit your website and it's pages and apply for them to get indexed by google. After a couple of days, you will start appearing in their search results.
You can create a webmaster tools account on https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/
Create a Bing webmaster tools account
Much like creating a google webmaster tools account, this works in the same way and is really important too because Bing is one of the most popular search engines for businesses and entrepreneurs. And getting interaction from those parts could be a huge success for your website.
Create an account at: https://www.bing.com/toolbox/webmaster
Write good quality content and use the right keywords
Basically what I mean when saying this is that you should take your time when writing posts or content on your website and choose the right title and keywords.
Choosing the right keywords would be to include the most important words that you would want to show up in google's search results for. For example, if you are writing a post about ''Making a delicious mud-cake'' you would want ''Mud-cake recipe'' or ''How to make a mud-cake'' to be keywords since they are related to what you are going to write about and might interest good quality visitors who are genuinely interested.
This could be thousands of words long of me explaining this, but long story short: Always write articles and posts where the title and content is related to each other.
If you would like to learn more about SEO and how to appear higher in search results, Google's official guide could help you get a better understanding.
Advertising Your Website/Blog
There are numerous ways to advertise and market your website. The most popular methods are paid advertisements and social media marketing.
These methods can be very effective if you know how to use them in the correct way, although they require somewhat of a budget depending on what your advertising goals are. Therefore I would recommend you only start paying for advertising your website when it is fully finished and intriguing for visitors who visit it. This way you would get the most value out of the visitors you are going to be receiving.
Advertise with Google Adwords
A great, secure way to get genuinely interested visitors to your website is to create Google ads and only pay for visitors who clicks your ad and visits your website. There are a whole lot of tricks and tips to get the most value out of your money, however this method can be expensive at times since competition can be high. You can expect to pay at least a dollar for a click on your website, but you will have to keep in mind that the visitors that clicks will actually be interested in your content.
If you would like to try advertising with Google to reach out to visitors, you can create an Adwords account at: https://adwords.google.com/
Advertise with Facebook
Personally, I have had a lot of success when advertising my website on Facebook. You can create ads that will show up to visitors that only match the interests you have selected.
For example, if you own a blog about Pets and animals, you can match your ad to only show up for Facebook users who are interested in Pets and animals. This is a great way to only get visitors who are interested. Also this method tends to be cheaper than Google Adwords.
You pay for impressions and clicks, and you can have a low budget as low as 1$ a day if you don't have the money to spend huge amounts on advertising.
If you would like to try Facebook advertising, you can do so on your regular Facebook account or on your Facebook page account at: https://www.facebook.com/business/products/ads
My Personal Experience
As a young 18 year old guy who is interested in web management and creation, I love finding new methods that could get me traffic and exploring the world of content management and how search engines really work.
I have been creating websites since I was 14 years old, and throughout the years I have learnt so much about website creation and from the mistakes that have previously lead to my failure. I want to share my tips and tricks with you to make your journey a little less rough than mine and inform you so that you can avoid the potholes I fell in.
I've had over 20 websites which had pretty good ideas behind them crash because I did not know how to handle SEO, Social media marketing, and I thought I could get away with buying cheap ''legit'' traffic from scam websites in hopes of making conversions.
With all this said, I really hope you enjoyed this tutorial in how to get more traffic to your website/blog and I'm hoping you will stay up to date so you can see when I have something new to share.
Most important features from our review
Author: Nick Bergman
Wordpress has been out there for a long time, and there is a reason they are the most popular choice when it comes to building your website. Simply put, they are there for you when a simple website builder just is not enough. They allow access to a whole sea of features and among these are the popular SEO friendly customization options, their friendly user interface and their well known widget-installer.
Their widget installer allows you to add special user created widgets to your website to help customize it to your needs and help it grow in it's niche. A feature that many other website building platforms lack.
Wordpress would be ideal for anyone who has got their mind wrapped around a little bit of experience, and if you'd possibly want to create your website using code. They are perfect for anyone wanting more advanced features beyond the standard ones such as creating a membership site with full customization, or starting a news site.
The option to go for if you're innovative, having some experience is definitely helpful, although their user friendly interface will help you learn quickly
Without further to talk about I figured we would start getting deeper into this review. We will be going over the biggest Pro's and Con's of Wordpress and their services. We are also going to go over what type of person that would fit perfectly with using Wordpress.
Okay, first the Pro's and Cons
Pros About Wordpress
With Wordpress being open source, you will have the ability to write and edit code for free without any licensing fees. This has proven useful to anyone using coding as an element of customizing their website. The open source also allows people to openly share their code across the Wordpress platform. This can save developing time if you don't have the time to write your own code, you can just go for an already completed website theme.
With Wordpress there is no determined price for everyone. The price of creating and managing your website and it's features is totally up to you and what budget you have. There are a lot of web hosting companies out there providing different plans of hosting. One of the most popular ones is Bluehost. And which one you choose is up to you. Also which tools you will be using to create your website are also up to and therefore you can get away cheaply with creating your website if you don't have the budget or need for a website costing hundreds or thousands of dollars.
Multiple SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Options
Wordpress sites seem to rank better than many others in google index. And part of this is because Wordpress themselves tend to fix crawling errors and SEO troubles with your site automatically. If you are looking to be found on google, bing etc then Wordpress would be a pretty good alternative. They allow more options than the average website-builder platform would.
One of the most powerful aspects of Wordpress is their plugin system available to every user. As this was written there is over 53000+ plugins available for your Wordpress website. These plugins are all different and there are really useful ones depending on what type of website you own. For example you could add anti-spam to your website if you often accept entries or you could protect your images with an image-lock preventing people from right clicking and downloading your images.
These are just a couple of all the plugins available and there are lots of other ones. You will almost be guaranteed to find something useful for your website/blog.
Okay so Wordpress has a lot of great features allowing for pretty much endless opportunities. The ones I went over are just some of the key features and there is a lot more to discover on their website.
However no service comes without it's flaws, and whether those flaws don't affect you at all or have a significant importance in terms of using Wordpress, we are going to go over the most notable cons of wordpress
Alright, here are the key cons of Wordpress
Cons of Wordpress
Limited Staff Permissions
Although Wordpress allows for a great membership website using their plugins, they don't give the user an ability to edit their staffs permissions. If you're going to have other people editing your websites than yourself, this could become an issue since you would not have the ability to restrict some of your staffs access to some pages or areas. This would be problematic if you for example are going to have someone else writing your blog posts and only want that person to have access to the blog features and not the ability to even delete the website.
I don't know if this can be fixed, but I think if it could, it would be through an user created plugin.
Attractive to Hackers
Since you will be hosting your website yourself on Wordpress, it's important that you take a variety of security precautions to avoid hackers or DDOS attacks on your website. Since many people on Wordpress don't really know how to prevent hackers, it is such a popular place for hackers to linger around.
These precautions can be pretty simple in itself by just hosting your website on a known web hosting company, or by getting an SSL certificate or Cloudflare plan.
Large Stores can Have Trouble
While there are a number of plugins allowing you to create your online store on Wordpress, such as Woocommerce, it can become troublesome when your store grows larger. The management system just simply isn't powerful enough to be able to allow you to manage large quantity orders in a good way. And if you compare your store to one that is actually hosted on a eCommerce dedicated platform you will be no match for them. If you are planning on creating a sizable online store, then Prestashop or Magento suits a lot better than Wordpress since they offer a lot more advanced features.
Not a Perfect fit for Social Networks
The features with Wordpress as far as their social media communicating alternatives go, is pretty basic. You could improve the social media alternatives and ability to interact with plugins. You could even add live chat to your website. Nonetheless I personally wouldn't use Wordpress if the goal of my website was to solely create a socially developed network of users, there are better alternatives for that. Although it is possible, Wordpress lack of specialization in this area will be going against you.
Okay so that was some dots definitely worth pointing out about Wordpress. Now that we have gone over the most important pros and cons I will summarize this review in the last part. Is Wordpress a good alternative for you? Note that part of this is my opinion and part is fact.
Is Wordpress a Good Choice for you?
Now, as we went over many notable features of Wordpress, it narrows down to just one question left: Is Wordpress a good choice for you?
Wordpress IS Right for you if:
-You have at least some form of experience in creating websites before
-You need more features than the average website builder provides when it comes to SEO
-You want to be able to control how much money you are going to dedicate into creating your website
-You want beautiful templates already created by others users of the same platform
-Your website is in a niche and you need unique customized plugins to help you manage your website to fit you niche
Wordpress is NOT Right for you if:
-You don't want to spend some time into taking security precautions to avoid hackers
-You are aiming to create a social network website
-You are aiming to create a large eCommerce website
-Your staff are going to need specific features and access to only certain parts of your website
I hope you enjoyed this review and most importantly I hope you learnt something valuable to take into mind. Perhaps this review saved you from a potential mistake or quite the opposite, got your eyes open for a great opportunity. Nevertheless, we think it is important that other people also gets to have an insight about Wordpress, so feel free to share this review or ask any questions in the comments section down below.
Kind regards, Nick Bergman
Key highlights from our review
Weebly is one of the most popular website builders out there, and there is a reason for that. Among amateurs and professionals they've never failed to stun the audience with premium features constantly being added for a reasonable price, if there even is one at all. Features can include video backgrounds, HTML/CSS customization, Header Slideshows and hundreds of beautiful themes and images for your use. And that's just naming some of the features.
One of the amazing features with Weebly is that you will be able to create stunning websites without having to write a single line of code, still keeping style that gives your visitors a vibe of professionalism.
Weebly is ideal for anyone wanting to create an E-commerce store, Blog, Portfolio, Business site, Membership site and so many others. They can help you accomplish your goals whether you are a professional or just a beginner.
They're unique. Simple, quick to learn. Definitely one of the most user friendly website builders out there. You will be able to build a great looking website without any previous experience and Weebly themselves will help you do so.
Weebly is featured in
Pros About Weebly
Very Quick and Easy to Learn
Weebly is probably one of the most user friendly website builders out there today. With their drag and drop builder it doesn't get much simpler.
Despite their quick to learn builder it still comes with amazing features. Features that would normally takes months if not years of coding to learn. And they still managed to keep it simple.
Hundreds of Free Images, Themes and Templates
Along with other features Weebly a special one worth looking into would be their supply of hundreds of free watermark free images to use for your website, along with free great looking themes and templates.
Recently, Weebly has improved their supply of advanced looking themes which used to be one of their biggest weaknesses. However, with new ones being submitted every now and then you can almost be sure that you will never go without a good looking theme. Maybe you even have your own header images and themes you would like to use? Then go ahead, full customization along with HTML/CSS is available!
Wide Variety Functions
What I mean by this is that Weebly offers a huge amount of varied features to help you create the type of website that you want to do, such as E-commerce, Membership, Blog features, User created App support and more.
Along with all these features you will also quickly find out that they are very well made! Weebly also allows user created apps and widgets to use on your website. Many of them are free and some of them costs.
Cons About Weebly
Blog Features Need an Upgrade
Although Weebly offers blog support, which is good, they need to give their users blogging abilities a little upgrade.
More recently, websites with blogs often would like the ability to highlight related posts, most popular posts and latest posts. This is something Weebly has to work on as they have not yet implemented these features unlike some rivals.
The basics are given to you at hand when blogging. Such as social media buttons, read more cut, blog categories, archives and even scheduling. But all considered, these are pretty basic functions all blogs should have and therefore there is not much special with Weeblys blogging features.
Slow With Adding new Features
Weebly may have a lot of features, but you would never mind something new every now and then.
Though Weeblys features are very well made and operate perfectly with the drag and drop website builder, they are quite slow with adding new features.
However, Weebly has improved significantly over the last years in this section. Not too long ago they added their ''user made apps'' feature which made you able to implement external features that other users have created and therefore get access to a more broad website customization ability. Weebly just needs to keep heading in the direction they are doing right now and this issue will be fixed.
Migrating to a new Platform can be Hard
The last major disadvantage with Weebly is that they make it hard for you to change platform.
If you would like to change platform to your Wordpress powered site for example, then this will be an annoying process with all your URL redirects and content transfering. Please do notice that Weebly do offer 301 directs in case that you would come across this scenario so that it wouldn't be impossible to migrate your website.
Does Weebly Suit you?
Weebly is super simple to use, and suits all ranges of personal websites as well as businesses and E-commerce stores
So, based on this review, Weebly is ideal for small businesses, personal websites and E-commerce stores. As well as for photographers, designers and local store owners.
There are more advanced website builders available, but Weebly is catching up and doing so fast when it comes to introducing new advanced features and fresh designs.
One of the great things about Weebly is also that even though they are adding new features and steadily increasing in advance, the user interface still remain easy to use and understand. This benefits everyone and most importantly those who do not have any technical skill.
Also if you do happen to know a bit of code, this can benefit you greatly and be a good asset. This because Weebly allows those who have a little bit of familiarity with coding access their websites HTML/CSS section, even for free users.
